Ceiling/firewall brackets are the most common. It can be used at all levels. It’s the perfect choice when an enclosure conceals the ventilation system. Simply screw the bracket to the joist frame using four #8 x 1 1/2″ wood screws or four 2″ long spiral nails. This ceiling / firestop support also acts as a firestop and support when installed underneath. It can also be installed above the joists, however, an additional firestop will be required from below in this case.
